London based practitioner Yusef Tothill (b. 2002), is a multidisciplinary visual artist whose work shifts between sculpture, photography and bookmaking as a collaberative practice.  With a strong focus on materiality and process, Yusef’s work explores themes of temporality, resistance and transgression within an urban context.

He is also the founder of Doeboys Community Press — an independent publishing collective that aims to make zine-making and physical print more accessible.

“The feeling of having your own work in print is something that can never be matched by social media and its algorithms. It is our aim to provide and share the resources necessary for anyone interested to be able to publish their works, and in doing so we hope to break down any hierarchy, seniority or gate keeping involved in the publishing industry.“

Yusef also uses Doeboys as an educational mode of practice , using group workshops and collective publishing as both a mode of production and a critical tool for shaping his artistic methodology.
